Daniel Levy blasted after ‘diabolical’ Tottenham transfer – ‘Atrocious’
Tottenham fans are not impressed with Daniel Levy’s track record in the transfer market.
Tottenham have made some high-profile mistakes in previous years, with the 2019/20 summer arrivals of Tanguy Ndombele, Giovani Lo Celso, Ryan Sessegnon, and Jack Clarke particularly damning.
The Lilywhites already have gripes with Levy’s hesitant attitude to transfer windows, which accentuates the pain when players perform well below expectations.
The Spurs chairman has adopted a more nuanced approach in recent years with the increased use of data, but it is not a foolproof system, as proven by recent transfer developments.

Alejo Véliz returns to Rosario Central
Rosario Central were pushing for Alejo Véliz to return this summer, less than two years after the striker left his boyhood club to join Tottenham.
And the Argentinian club have got their wish, with Spurs confirming on Tuesday (8 July) that Véliz has re-signed for Rosario on a season-long loan.
The agreement is not thought to include a purchase option or obligation. However, the Lilywhites will be able to recall the 20-year-old in January if they deem fit [Football London].
Véliz had been seen participating in pre-season training under Thomas Frank, but was not in the Dane’s plans.
The forward has struggled to adapt to European football, scoring just six goals over the course of the last two seasons spent at Spurs and on loan with Sevilla and Espanyol.
Tottenham signed Véliz for £13million and are yet to reap any rewards from the expensive outlay, which has infuriated Spurs fans.
The Lilywhites took to X to vent their frustration, mainly aimed at Levy, with one supporter calling the club’s recruitment “atrocious”.
Plenty more young players are set to leave Spurs this summer
Despite Spurs only bringing in one new face so far this summer in Kōta Takai, the squad is overinflated, especially in terms of young players.
At centre-back, they have four players under the age of 21, while spots for attacking midfielders are equally crowded.
Frank will be the beneficiary, as competition for places is healthy and provides him with plenty of options, but it also means that there will be numerous departures yet to come between now and the end of the transfer window.
