Tottenham told to ‘sack Postecoglou’ after ‘pathetic’ defender decision
Tottenham have been told to sack Ange Postecoglou after the “pathetic” exit of Alfie Dorrington was sanctioned.
The main area that Spurs have struggled with this season is that of their defensive line with the North London club suffering several injuries to both their centre-backs and full-backs.
At the moment, Tottenham only have one fit centre-back within their ranks with Archie Gray helping to fill the gap at the heart of their defence for now.
A lot of supporters believe it was a questionable decision to allow the youngster to leave for Aberdeen on loan (official website), albeit he did sign a new contract at the same time, with one asking the club to “make it make sense” while another dubbed the decision as “insane”.
Tottenham told to sack Ange Postecoglou after Alfie Dorrington transfer
The 2024/25 season has been rather topsy-turvy for the Australian and his men, things haven’t quite gone their way in the league and while things may have gone slightly better in the Europa League, it still feels like more should be coming from Spurs.
Granted, Gray has taken to the centre-back role like a fish to water and has more than proven his worth after his transfer from Leeds United in the summer.
However, as Tottenham now only have one fit centre-back among their ranks, it’s not much of a surprise to see fans questioning Postecoglou’s choices.

At the moment, it’s unclear whether Postecoglou’s decision to send the youngster out on loan instead of using him in his starting XI will come back to bite him but on paper, it seems like a silly decision.
Which, at the end of the day, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see the former Celtic boss sacked for sanctioning his exit.
