Tottenham fans all say the same thing as Andoni Iraola ‘ready’ for appointment – ‘Disastrous’

Ange Postecoglou continues to feel the pressure over his position at Tottenham after a 2-0 loss to Fulham on Sunday.

After a disastrous season for Tottenham, the boss has had a dark cloud over his head for some time, although that was thought to have faded after progression in the Europa League on Thursday (13 March).

However, the Lilywhites failed to back this up at Craven Cottage on Sunday and now sit 14th in the Premier League table while potential successors are eyed up.

Andoni Iraola puts name in the hat for Tottenham job

Although Postecoglou remains in his role as manager for now, there is plenty of pressure on his shoulders, and whether he will see out the season is looking uncertain.

With that in mind, the games after the international break are set to be deciders for the Australian, especially with their Europa League tie against Eintracht Frankfurt coming up next month.

Mauricio Pochettino has expressed his desire to return to North London one day, although given his role at the USA national team, that is unlikely to be an immediate fix.

One man who has impressed this season, though, is Andoni Iraola, who has got Bournemouth sitting 10th in the Premier League table, four points away from the top five.

It has also been reported that, should a managerial vacancy appear, Iraola’s representatives have indicated that he would be interested in the role.

Iraola a risky appointment for Tottenham

Even if Tottenham do win the Europa League this term, a managerial change feels inevitable, with the players at Spurs looking fatigued.

If Daniel Levy is going to sanction that, though, he has to be prepared to back it up with a strong appointment.

However, supporters in North London are worried that Iraola is not the answer, with the potential move being labelled as “disastrous” and “too soon.”

If Levy does sack Postecoglou, there is certainly a decision to be made about which direction Spurs will go in from there.

Iraola has had an impressive season with Bournemouth, but whether he has done enough to prove he could take Spurs back to where they want to be is questionable.

On the other hand, there have been plenty of proven managers who have also fallen short at The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, suggesting there might be bigger problems to focus on.
