Yusuf Akhamrich loan move mooted after Tottenham contract development
Yusuf Akhamrich is expected to leave Tottenham on loan in January.
Spurs confirmed via the club’s official website on Thursday (2 January) that the 19-year-old, who has made quite an impression with the Under-21s this season, has signed a new deal with the club which runs until 2028.
Akhamrich isn’t the only Spurs gem to have put pen to paper, with Damola Ajayi also signing a contract which runs until 2028 [via Spurs’ Official Website, 2 January] as a behind-the-scenes claim is shared about the player.
And Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – claims Akhamrich could leave on loan in January.
“Akhamrich extended his contract with the club until 2028,” Wenham said.
“He is a highly versatile, Morocco Under-20 international who I expect could leave on loan in January. If a League Two club were to come calling, that would be a good first step for him in senior men’s football.”
Yusuf Akhamrich to leave Tottenham on loan in January?
Akhamrich has scored four goals and provided one assist in Premier League 2 this season. However, it appears as though first-team opportunities might prove hard to come by for the youngster, especially with so many other talented young players ahead of him in the pecking order.
Therefore, a loan move in January would make sense and would allow Akhamrich to accelerate his development. However, if he is going to leave temporarily, Spurs need to ensure the move is right for the player.
Several of Spurs’ loanees have been mooted to return to the club this month as a result of various struggles.

And Spurs won’t want something similar to happen to Akhamrich.
In other Tottenham news, Manchester City are threatening to hijack the club’s pursuit of one player.
