Walker-Peters ‘disrespect’ claim as ex-Tottenham man agrees transfer – Exclusive
Kyle Walker-Peters has been linked with a Tottenham return after leaving Southampton.
Walker-Peters rose through the ranks at Hotspur Way and made his debut for Tottenham in a 2-1 win against Newcastle United during the 2017/18 season.
However, the defender struggled to stand out from the rest over the next two years in North London. As a result, he signed for Southampton in January 2020 after a successful loan spell on the South Coast.
With his contract at St Mary’s Stadium expiring this summer, Walker-Peters is now a free agent and has been linked with a Tottenham return, as an update now drops on his next club.

Walker-Peters agrees personal terms with West Ham
Despite talk of a potential return to Tottenham, Walker-Peters is instead set to join his former club’s rivals.
As reported by Fabrizio Romano via X on Friday (18 July), Walker-Peters has agreed to join West Ham on a three-year deal.
After a move to Beşiktaş collapsed, the fullback has an agreement with the Hammers, with formal steps soon to follow.

While he would have loved to see him return to Tottenham, Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – believes Walker-Peters wouldn’t have played regularly.
“I would have taken Walker-Peters back at Tottenham,” Wenham said.
“I’ve said this a couple of times over the last three years because he’s able to play right or left back, he’s an ex-England international, and I just like him as well.
“He’s born in Edmonton and he’s a proper Tottenham fan, so I would always take Walker-Peters back, but he’s gone to West Ham.
“This is not a disrespect, but Walker-Peters has got more chance of breaking into the first team at West Ham than he does at Tottenham with Djed Spence, Pedro Porro and Destiny Udogie in front of him.
“Therefore, good luck to him at West Ham. I’m pleased for him that he’s got a big Premier League move.”
Tottenham should still consider signing a fullback
Tottenham should consider a fullback signing if a good market opportunity arises.
The Lilywhites are currently stacked in defence. However, Udogie in particular has struggled with fitness.
With only Spence to hold the fort down alone, Spurs should be on the lookout for another rotational option, whether in the market or the academy.
