Tyler Dibling ‘set to clear medical’ as Tottenham transfer news emerges

Tottenham are reportedly keen on securing the services of Southampton winger Tyler Dibling this summer.

Injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar has assessed the fitness of the 19-year-old as he will have to clear a medical if he is to seal a transfer in the coming weeks.

Last season, he was a regular for the Saints but missed a few games with an ankle injury.

Dibling expected to clear medical if needed

The 19-year-old is not expected to face any issues in clearing his medical this summer, according to Dr Brar.

Discussing the state of play with Dibling exclusively with Tottenham News, Dr Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, shared his verdict.

“He did miss two games last season due to an ankle injury,” he said.

“However, it isn’t something that appeared to have knock-on effects, as he was injury-free for the rest of the season.

“I do not see him facing any issues clearing his medical, either.”

Tottenham must look to negotiate a lower fee for Dibling

Tottenham should prioritise negotiating a lower fee for Dibling, as his current valuation of £47.3million–£56million remains steep for a 19-year-old yet to prove himself consistently at the Premier League level.

While Southampton’s relegation could have lowered their demands, their £100million initial asking price was prohibitive, and even the revised figure requires careful negotiation to align with Tottenham’s reported shift toward experienced signings, like the deal for Mohammed Kudus.

Dibling, however, represents a smart long-term investment.

His versatility as a winger, combined with his England youth international pedigree, makes him an ideal squad player who can provide depth behind stars like Kudus or Son Heung-min.

With development in Thomas Frank’s system, Dibling’s pace, flair, and potential could see him transition into a first-team regular within a few seasons, offering Spurs both immediate cover and future star quality at a potentially cost-effective price.
