Tottenham urged to follow in Arsenal’s footsteps after lucrative announcement at Emirates Stadium

John Wenham has urged Spurs to host more women’s matches at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium following an announcement by their North London rivals.

The owner of the reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose believes that Arsenal’s decision to host more women’s matches at Emirates Stadium will be “a big money-spinner” for the club.

It comes after the Gunners announced via their official website (14 May) that the Emirates will become the main home of Arsenal Women, hosting 11 games during the 2024/25 season.

And Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – believes Spurs should do something similar.

“I think Arsenal have seen the value in that,” Wenham said.

“I hope that Tottenham’s run to the FA Cup final, and how well supported that was, will lead to Spurs doing something similar in the future.

“They still need to invest in the playing squad and grow the team, but I’m hopeful for a bigger summer for them.

“If they can bring in more well-known players then that would allow them to host more matches at the stadium next year, something which is obviously a big money-spinner for Arsenal.”

Daniel Levy must capitalise on Tottenham Women in North London

Arsenal have attracted large crowds to the Emirates to watch their women’s team play in the past.

And by making their 60,000-plus seater ground the women’s team’s main home, it suggests they are confident of continuing to do so.

There is no reason why Tottenham cannot achieve something similar.

Robert Vilahamn has helped the women’s team grow immensely this season.

Robert Vilahamn enjoyed a positive first season in charge of Tottenham Women.

And with more time and investment, Spurs chairman Daniel Levy could open up some lucrative doors.
