Tottenham up for sale as ‘Huge’ takeover developments emerge
Dan Plumley insists that “huge” takeover news could be on the horizon at Tottenham.
Richard Keys recently revealed that something was in the air at the Tottenham Hotspur, with Daniel Levy not sacking Ange Postecoglou because of it.
Newcastle, Everton and Manchester United are recent Premier League clubs to be taken over, with little movement at Spurs creating tension in the fanbase.
Tottenham fans protested against Levy and ENIC ahead of the 1-0 win over Manchester United.
Huge Tottenham takeover now on the cards
Plumley admitted that takeover news at Spurs would be “huge” after what Keys revealed, saying that the North London club has always been for sale.
The football finance expert believes Tottenham could be worth up to £4billion, but no offers, if any, have met the expectations of the ownership group.
“It’s that kind of club that is the next biggest one on the list of English football,” Plumley exclusively told Tottenham News.
“We’ve talked about Manchester City’s ownership for years, we know the Liverpool model, we know what’s happened at Arsenal and there is no signs of movement there in that regard anytime soon, we’ve had the Manchester United and Everton examples.
“Spurs have always been there as well, certainly since they planned the new stadium and now that’s here, the NFL and F1 deals, all of the other things they’ve done, maybe looking at people as big as Amazon or Google for stadium naming rights, we’ve always talked about Spurs as the next big takeover.

“It’s just not quite happened for whatever reason, so it would be significant and we’ve said before in the pocket valuations of English football, if you look at the clusters of clubs, Spurs are in that £3-4billion-plus category for full acquisition, and they’re the only one in there that’s not had a significant change in the last five to 10 years.
“It would be huge news and ultimately, we’ve seen this behind the scenes, I believe they are up for sale but the price has not met the expectations of the current ownership group, but I’m sure if you’re a billionaire and want a football club, Spurs are an attractive proposition.”
Daniel Levy to sell Tottenham
Despite Qatari investors being interested in a phased takeover, suggestions have emerged they could keep Levy in a chairman role for his expertise (The Guardian).
That obviously hasn’t gone down too well with Spurs fans, with any possible “huge” takeover news needing to be a clean break to keep everyone happy.
This is certainly one to watch in North London.
