Tottenham transfer news: Twist emerges in quest to sign Barcelona star Dani Olmo
Tottenham will consider the increased injury risk if they are considering signing Barcelona attacking midfielder Dani Olmo, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert claims that as he was not allowed to be registered, he did miss games and that puts him at an increased injury risk if he is to move to a different country in January.
It’s understood that Spurs have already made enquiries to secure the Spain international’s services. [Mundo Deportivo, 31 December]
Discussing the state of play with Olmo exclusively with Tottenham News, Dr Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, shared his verdict.
“Due to the contractual issue, he did miss a few weeks of action,” he said.
“As you cannot replicate in-game demands without playing in games, you lose match fitness quite quickly.
“That re-adaptation phase comes with increased injury risk.
“Surely, Tottenham will have to factor that in if they are considering signing him.“
Dani Olmo will be a good addition for Tottenham
While Barcelona have managed to re-register him, La Liga have taken the complaint to court so this might not be the end of the saga. [Daily Mail]
This would open the door for Spurs who desperately need an X-Factor player in the final third and the 26-year-old is exactly that.

He’s capable of scoring goals and also setting up chances for his teammates so he’ll undoubtedly be a player Ange Postecoglou will welcome.
