‘Tottenham transfer exit derailed after injury development’ – Exclusive
Daniel Levy has paid acute attention to Tottenham’s defensive core this summer.
The Tottenham Chairman is expected to continue fine-tuning Spurs’ defensive unit after a disappointing record in the Premier League last season.
Under Ange Postecoglou, the North London club conceded 65 goals in the league while Guglielmo Vicario kept three fewer clean sheets than in his debut season.
As a result, Levy has put his defence under the microscope this summer, which includes incomings as well as outgoings.

Tottenham to consider Maeson King loan after injury setback
Maeson King was flying for Tottenham’s Under-21s before injury struck.
The defender and Spurs confirmed that he had undergone surgery following the conclusion of the season, and he is still three or four months away from a full recovery.
Player | Appearances | Assists | Minutes |
Maeson King | 62 | 3 | 4,719′ |
It will be a race against the clock for King to return to fitness once back on the field, and Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – believes a loan move is on the cards.
“I think the first thing is he’ll need to prove his fitness,” Wenham said.
“He’s only got one year left on his contract, so he’ll need to get back to fitness, and then it will be building up to January.
“It’s a really frustrating time to get an injury because I know clubs were looking to take him on loan this year, and missing out on that opportunity because of injury is very frustrating.
“However, I know the club value him highly. Hopefully, he has that opportunity to build his fitness up, gets another couple of years on his contract and then maybe heads out on loan from January.”
King could break into the first-team
King has the potential to become an important player for the first team if he recovers well.
Last season, he made a good enough impression on Ange Postecoglou to earn a spot on the bench against AS Roma during the UEFA Europa League. He was also named in the squad which took on Southampton at St Mary’s Stadium in the Premier League.
As a result, there is no reason to suggest that Thomas Frank won’t also see his potential. Therefore, with a potential loan move to develop and grow, King could regularly feature for Spurs in the future.
