Tottenham told to sign Nottingham Forest duo amid ‘bizarre’ £30million transfer claim

John Wenham wants Tottenham to sign Nottingham Forest duo Morgan Gibbs-White and Taiwo Awoniyi.

The owner of the reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose was surprised to see the club linked with Callum Hudson-Odoi.

Reliable Spurs insider Paul O Keefe revealed via X (28 May) that Hudson-Odoi was offered to Spurs, but Johan Lange was against a move.

As per The Sun (24 May) the Forest forward is valued at around £30million, despite joining the club from Chelsea for £3million just last summer.

And Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – would much rather the club signed two of his current teammates.

“I found those links a little bit bizarre to be perfectly honest with you,” Wenham said.

“I’d much rather Tottenham went out and signed Gibbs-White and Awoniyi from Forest.

“Hudson-Odoi has had a good season and he’s done well to get his career back on track, but I don’t think he’s that much of an upgrade on what we have.

“Forest only paid £3million for him, so I’m not sure Tottenham would be happy to pay £30million.”

Ange Postecoglou will be keen to sign a new number nine at Tottenham

A new wide player should not be at the top of Spurs’ wishlist.

Rejecting the chance to sign Hudson-Odoi makes sense, as a new number nine should be the priority.

Following the re-signing of Timo Werner, Ange Postecoglou is well-stocked out wide.

Hudson-Odoi had an impressive season, but he isn’t what is needed in North London.

In other Tottenham news, a midfielder has been told to snub interest from Aston Villa and join the North London club.
