Tottenham ‘to welcome Dušan Vlahović’ as £50m Juventus transfer news emerges

Dušan Vlahović could be set to play his football in North London with Tottenham next season.

Ange Postecoglou currently has Dominic Solanke, Richarlison and Mathys Tel as striking options at his disposal in North London.

However, Richarlison’s long-term future remains up in the air, while Tel could decide not to make his stay with Tottenham permanent, and instead return to Bayern Munich when his loan deal expires.

Therefore, Spurs might be on the lookout to sign a new striker who can provide competition for Solanke. While Harry Kane has been backed to one day return to Tottenham and retire at the club, that transfer might come too early this summer.

As a result, Spurs will likely need to look elsewhere, and it appears as though they’ve been offered some encouragement in the race for Vlahović.

Tottenham to sign Juventus striker Dušan Vlahović?

As reported by GiveMeSport (17 February), Tottenham are favourites to sign Vlahović ahead of Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United.

Juventus are willing to move the striker on as discussions over a new contract have reached a standstill.

And ex-Spurs scout Bryan King – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – believes a player of Vlahović’s quality would be welcomed with open arms in North London.

“I’ve said all along that Spurs need a goalscoring centre-forward,” King said.

“Somebody who will score goals consistently. Therefore, a player of Vlahović’s quality and experience would certainly be welcomed to Tottenham. However, it would likely mean another striker is moved on.

“This would be a good signing for the club, but it would need to be as a replacement for somebody else. For me, Richarlison is the player who would need to be moved on. Solanke has only been at the club for half a season.”

Dušan Vlahović to replace Richarlison at Tottenham?

Richarlison could well leave Tottenham this summer. Therefore, a replacement would be needed, and signing Vlahović could make a lot of sense.

The 25-year-old has a proven goalscoring track record in European football and could benefit from a fresh start in the Premier League.

In addition, he would likely be considered a big-name signing. Therefore, bringing him to the club could certainly ease some of the pressure on Daniel Levy.

However, it remains to be seen whether a deal will be agreed.
