Tottenham to strike up £100,000-a-week Sergio Reguilon agreement amid transfer development
John Wenham believes Brentford and Tottenham will come to an agreement for the permanent transfer of Sergio Reguilon.
The owner of the reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose feels that the North London club will do whatever is needed to get the left-back off their books this summer.
It comes after The Athletic reported previously (18 April) that it is unlikely Reguilon would join up with the Bees permanently following his time on loan in West London.
But Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – claims that Spurs are likely to help Brentford clear any financial hurdles to facilitate a move.
“Reguilon has been performing well for Brentford as of late,” Wenham said
“I know that there are suggestions that Brentford won’t sign Reguilon because of his wages.
“He is on £100,000-per-week at Tottenham which is just madness considering his lack of contributions to the club.
“But what I could see is Brentford and Tottenham coming to some sort of agreement which sees the two clubs split his wages next season, during what would be the final year of his contract in North London.
“These things happen all the time when clubs are looking to get players out the door, and I could see that arrangement possibly being made because Brentford do like Reguilon.”
Sergio Reguilon does not have a future with Tottenham under Ange Postecoglou
Reguilon earns a lot of money at Tottenham.
If he were to spend next season in North London, he would be nothing more than an understudy to Destiny Udogie.
Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is unlikely to want to fork out any significant wages for a squad player.

As a result, the permanent transfer of Reguilon looks to be the best idea for all parties involved, and Levy must ensure he does what it takes to make that happen.
