‘Tottenham to sell four players’ after transfer announcement – Exclusive

Thomas Frank has plenty of work ahead of him as he bids to get his Tottenham squad prepared for the new season.

The Danish boss will provide a stark difference to Ange Postecoglou, both in terms of his personality and his footballing philosophy.

Daniel Levy is seemingly keen to back Frank in the transfer market as he aims to vindicate his appointment, with several potential big-money deals being mooted in N17 this summer.

There will also likely be a strong desire to trim the existing first-team squad, which underperformed so drastically in the Premier League last term.

Kudus’ £55m arrival is sure to bring exits at Spurs

Mohammed Kudus recently became the latest man to complete a switch to Tottenham, with the Ghanaian sealing his move across London from West Ham on Friday (11 July).

Levy broke his self-imposed protocol of not doing business with the Irons in order to land the 24-year-old, and he also represents a significant outlay at £55million.

The former Ajax man endured an uncharacteristically poor season last time out, but there can be no doubt that he will bring more genuine top-level quality to Frank’s attacking unit.

However, ex-Spurs scout Bryan King – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – believes that his arrival will result in numerous sales over the next few weeks, with Kudus likely to immediately become a key player.

“A player of Kudus’ calibre, he’s not being brought in to sit on the bench,” King said.

“Especially not at £55m. He’s going to be playing, which means Spurs will have players looking over their shoulders. Will those players be happy as squad players? Will they ask to leave the club?

“I would imagine that Levy is going to want to recoup some of the money he’s spending. Therefore, I think at least three, perhaps even four players, will be sold by Tottenham. They need to, otherwise they’re overloaded.”

Richarlison and Manor Solomon will be fearing the worst

Richarlison has been heavily linked with a move away from Spurs recently, and he will surely be fearing the worst following Kudus’ arrival.

Manor Solomon is another player who could easily be impacted, having just returned from a season spent out on loan at Leeds United.

Tottenham now have a huge amount of options at the top of the pitch, particularly in the wide areas, and they will undoubtedly need to trim down that area of the squad in the next few weeks.

Son Heung-min’s future is also up in the air, while Bryan Gil seems destined to be moved on.

Time will tell which players end up being viewed as a potential sale option by the Lilywhites’ hierarchy, but there are several who will now likely be looking nervously over their shoulder.
