Tottenham ‘to offer Dejan Kulusevski improved contract’ as transfer news emerges

Dejan Kulusevski’s performances look set to earn him an improved contract with Tottenham.

Ange Postecoglou’s side reached the UEFA Europa League semi-final on Thursday (17 April), with Graham Roberts sharing a Kulusevski admission in the aftermath of the 1-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt at Deutsche Bank Park.

Kulusevski has been a key player for Tottenham this season and will be crucial to Spurs’ hopes of winning the Europa League.

As a result, it looks as though Tottenham are ready to tie the Swede down to a new deal as interest begins to emerge from around Europe.

Antonio Conte wants to bring Kulusevski to Napoli

Spurs are expected to demand £70million for Kulusevski.

As reported by AreaNapoli (9 April), Conte dreams of bringing Kulusevski to Napoli in a move which would see the Italian reunite with the 24-year-old after their time together at Tottenham.

However, Tottenham are expected to open contract talks with Kulusevski.

As reported by GiveMeSport (18 April), Kulusevski wants assurances that Tottenham are heading in the right direction before committing his future beyond his current £110,000-a-week deal, which still has three years left to run.

However, ex-Spurs scout Bryan King – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – doesn’t think Spurs are in any rush to make a contract offer, which he expects to be an improved one.

“He still has three years left on his contract,” King said.

“Therefore, I wouldn’t be worried right now if I were Tottenham. However, I would be worried if it were the end of next season. As a result, if they want to open contract talks in the next year, that makes sense.

“However, he still has three years on his contract. If he continues playing like he is, Spurs will offer him an improved contract. For now, Kulusevski just needs to concentrate on the task at hand. If Kulusevski keeps performing as he has been, he will expect more money. However, he still has a lot to prove.

“Tottenham are the ones in control at the moment. As long as Kulusevski keeps performing, it will only make his eventual contract offer even better than the one he is on.”

Tottenham need to keep hold of Kulusevski

Kulusevski is one of Spurs’ best players. Therefore, it is no surprise that the Lilywhites are already thinking about his future, even with three years left on his current deal.

Tottenham need to do whatever it takes to keep hold of Kulusevski. As a result, any contract offer should be a lucrative one.
