Tottenham to get rid of ‘lightweight’ Bryan Gil, high demand expected amid speculation
Tottenham will look to sell Bryan Gil this summer and he will have no shortage of suitors, according to Paul Robinson.
The Spanish winger, 23, has been a fringe player under Ange Postecolgou this season after returning from a loan spell at Sevilla in the second half of last season.
It was reported by GiveMeSport (14 April) that Eredivisie side Feyenoord might look to make a permanent move for Gil in the summer.
Former Spurs goalkeeper Robinson, speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, thinks Spurs will definitely aim to move him on as Postecoglou looks to reshape his squad.
“He’s never really got a start has he? He’s proven too lightweight, he gets knocked off the ball too easy,” Robinson told Tottenham News.
“I think the Premier League’s too quick for him, the game passes him by and I think he doesn’t really have any effect on the game.
“I think he’s a very technically gifted player, a very good player, his ball retention is excellent, he’s got a good eye for a pass.
“But I just think that the Premier League is not for him, he’s not really featured in Ange’s side and he wasn’t really in the manager’s sides before that either.
“I think going forward he’s got quality, he’s got good vision, he’s quick but he seems a little bit lightweight for the Premier League he doesn’t really affect games when he comes on and I think with Ange trying to remould his squad and bring in the players he wants he’ll be one that we see move on in the summer.
“There’ll be no shortage of suitors for him but I think the Premier League might be a bit too powerful and the games have passed him by.”
Bryan Gil to leave Tottenham this summer
It seems highly unlikely that Gil will be kept at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium beyond this season, he just simply hasn’t cut it in a Spurs shirt.
Plus the strength in depth they have in those forward areas with the likes of Son Heung-min, Richarlison, Dejan Kulusevski, and Brennan Johnson means at most he’ll remain a bit-part player.

Postecoglou will want to keep improving his squad this summer, regardless of whether Spurs get a spot in the Champions League next season.
Selling Gil will give Spurs just a bit more cash to spend to do just that. It really is a no-brainer at this juncture to let him go.
