Tottenham to ‘get job done’ for Gibbs-White as agent intervention mooted – Exclusive
Tottenham’s pursuit of Morgan Gibbs-White has become one of the main transfer stories of the summer.
The Lilywhites triggered the Nottingham Forest star’s release clause, only for the East Midlands outfit to continually stand in their way, claiming it was an illegal approach.
Tottenham will be hopeful of concluding their move for Gibbs-White soon, given that both clubs will have plans for pre-season that could be affected by the impending transfer.
Forest are currently unmoved in their stance on the 25-year-old, but Thomas Frank’s side will not have given up hope of bringing him to North London.

Spurs won’t be put off by the threat of legal action
Gibbs-White potentially issued a goodbye message to the Forest fans at the end of the first half of their pre-season friendly against Monaco on Saturday (19 July).
It could prove to be the final time he features for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side, as the links with Spurs refuse to go away.
Forest have threatened to take legal action against the N17 outfit, although it is understood that they are yet to properly act on those suggestions.
Ex-Spurs scout Bryan King – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – believes that Daniel Levy and Co. shouldn’t be concerned by the threats from their Premier League rivals, and he also feels that Gibbs-White’s agent will still be working hard to get the deal done.
“I would imagine something will have been dropped by his agent to somebody at Tottenham, and so on,” King said.
“He (Gibbs-White) had a release clause in his contract, so I don’t know what Nottingham Forest are moaning about.
“If Tottenham have made the offer, and it matches the release clause, then it doesn’t matter how many lawyers you’ve got.
“That’s the contract, that’s what has been signed, so let’s get the job done then.”

Tottenham need an end to the saga
Spurs don’t seem prepared to give up on Gibbs-White, but they need to get a definitive answer on him as soon as possible.
Interest in Yoane Wissa has now grown from elsewhere, and Frank’s side have already missed out on Bryan Mbeumo.
The Gibbs-White saga is the kind of issue that can easily derail a club’s transfer window if they ultimately cannot get the move over the line.
Spurs have got to be careful to ensure they don’t spend the entirety of what is left of their summer chasing the Forest man alone, only to then find out there is no way they can sign him.
If they don’t make progress on the England midfielder within the next week or so, then it may be sensible for them to turn their attention elsewhere.
