Tottenham ‘to demand £35m for Bentancur’ amid Atletico Madrid transfer news
Rodrigo Bentancur’s long-term future with Tottenham is up in the air as transfer news from Atletico Madrid emerges.
It looks set to be a summer of change in North London, with Daniel Levy very likely to sack Ange Postecoglou.
However, as well as changes at managerial level, there could be a host of changes within the playing squad as well. Several midfielders have been tipped to leave Tottenham after recent transfer news.
And one of those midfielders who could be on his way out is Bentancur, as interest now emerges from Atletico Madrid.

Tottenham to demand £35million for Bentancur
It had been mooted previously that Spurs could offer Bentancur £150,000-a-week to sign a new contract with the club.
However, those plans could yet change. As reported by Matteo Moretto via Relevo (23 March), Atletico have made contact with Tottenham about Bentancur.
While negotiations are yet to begin, Atletico are testing the waters ahead of June.

And ex-Spurs scout Bryan King – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – thinks Spurs would charge £35million to part ways with the midfielder.
“I think Bentancur is one of the really good players that Tottenham have got,” King said.
“Especially when it comes to the midfielders at the club. I think it shows what kind of quality he has when a team like Atletico Madrid wants to sign him. Diego Simeone doesn’t make many mistakes with the players that he brings in.
“A move to Spain would probably suit Bentancur, I’d imagine he would be able to settle quickly. He has proven that he is a good player. I like him as a footballer.
“He will go for at least £35m if Spurs decide to sell him. He is that kind of player, a quality player.”
Tottenham must make decision on Bentancur this summer
Bentancur will have one year left on his contract with Spurs at the end of the season.
Therefore, by the time the summer transfer window closes, the 27-year-old either needs to renew his deal in North London, or be sold.
Spurs will not want to lose the Uruguyan for free, which means a decision needs to be made.
