Xavi red tape emerges at Tottenham after Postecoglou sack news – Exclusive
Ange Postecoglou’s future remains up in the air amid the latest rumours connecting Xavi with the Tottenham job.
Tottenham will have their full focus on the Europa League clash with Bodo/Glimt, and that will remain the same until they are aware of their fate.
However, once that time comes around, Spurs have a series of decisions to make, with the most important one to be made on the future of Postecoglou.
Tottenham are already on the search for a new manager, and the links to Xavi have caused plenty of confusion in North London, with zero Premier League experience.

Tottenham could move to appoint Xavi
Postecoglou seems as though he is certain to face the sack, and it will leave Tottenham searching for yet another new manager that can deliver them to where they want to be.
Xavi is one of the names to have been linked, but Paul Robinson is unsure as to where Spurs will turn if they sack Postecoglou, but admitted they will be under pressure.
Speaking to Tottenham News, he said: “You don’t know what way they’re going to turn. Even if he wins the Europa League and gets Champions League, you don’t know whether he’s going to get sacked, or he’s going to get the job again for another year. You genuinely do not know what’s going to happen.

“If they were to win it and sack him, they’re then under massive pressure to bring in a manager who’s going to succeed. If he doesn’t win it and they sack him, which is quite inevitable, then whoever comes in has got a pretty easy task of getting better than 16th in the Premier League.
“So the managerial job will be attractive to somebody because, you know, you’re only going to do better than what’s happened this year. So somebody like Xavi, potentially with no Premier League experience. Do they go for Premier League experience?
“Xavi, yes, good manager, good potential. But for me, Premier League experience now is almost a must.”

Tottenham have no margin for error with next appointment
Regardless of whether Postecoglou wins the Europa League or not, his tenure will ultimately go down as a failure given the dismal season they have had domestically.
However, if they do sack him, they can’t afford to make yet another mistake.
The next few months are going to be crucial for Tottenham, and much of the planning will be dertmined by their success in Europe.
