Tottenham to accept £88m Pedro Porro exit amid Real Madrid transfer speculation

John Wenham expects that Tottenham will demand at least £88million for Pedro Porro.

The owner of the reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose thinks Spurs will want at least double what they paid for the right-back.

Porro recently acknowledged Real Madrid’s interest in him [via El Desmarque, 13 November], with the European giants long-term admirers of the Spain international [via AS, 31 October].

However, Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – expects Spurs to play hardball when it comes to the 25-year-old.

“Porro has proven himself in the Premier League,” Wenham said.

“He has also now become one of Spain’s starting right-back options. All in Spurs paid £44million to sign Porro, which includes the £5million loan fee and the £39million obligation to make his transfer permanent.

“Therefore, that price will be doubled, and Spurs will demand £88million. If clubs don’t want to pay it, that is fine, he is contracted until 2028. Either pay the £88million or don’t sign him, simple as.”

Tottenham to demand £88million for Pedro Porro?

Porro recently reemphasised his importance in North London, netting his second goal of the season in Spurs’ impressive 4-0 Premier League win against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium [23 November].

That would have only added more zeros to the defender’s price tag, with Ange Postecoglou no doubt desperate to keep hold of the Spaniard.

Therefore, while it has been suggested that Porro “dreams” of moving to the Santiago Bernabéu, Daniel Levy is also known to be a tough negotiator, which could prevent a potential transfer.

In other Tottenham news, the club has been named as the perfect destination for an exit-linked Bayern Munich player.
