Tottenham ‘takeover to be worth billions’ after ‘secretive’ ENIC development

Tottenham supporters look as though they just can’t get rid of Daniel Levy and ENIC.

Spurs’ owners are arguably some of the least popular in the Premier League, with chairman Levy in particular constantly criticised.

However, it looks as though ENIC and Levy aren’t going anywhere anytime soon as Tottenham recently confirmed via Companies House that ENIC had increased their holding in Spurs ever so slightly with a capital share allotment of £11.7million.

An email confirming the news was sent out just minutes ahead of kick-off at the Emirates on Wednesday 15 January, where Spurs suffered a 2-1 defeat in the North London derby.

And Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – isn’t surprised that ENIC decided to make this move.

“It felt like a secretive announcement,” Wenham said.

“I think they were always on the lookout to buy any minority shares in the club just to increase their value. What was a multi-million investment for them is now worth billions in the event of any sale.

“Therefore, any opportunity to buy up additional shares, no matter how small, they’re going to take it.”

Tottenham takeover to be worth billions for ENIC?

The timing of the announcement – when Spurs fans would be most distracted – suggests that ENIC are well aware of their perception among fans.

There was hardly any publicity around the news, and it almost felt as though ENIC didn’t want anyone to know what they had done. However, most Spurs fans will be well aware of what has happened by now and aren’t likely to be happy.

There has been plenty of speculation as of late about a potential takeover in North London.

However, if anybody wants to buy a majority share in Spurs, it looks as though it is going to cost a pretty penny, especially as ENIC continue to gather shares.

In other Tottenham news, the club were left “delighted” as a midfielder officially agreed terms in North London.
