Tottenham takeover ‘progressing behind-the-scenes’ amid ‘phenomenal’ Levy claim

Tottenham fans are desperate for a takeover in North London, and it looks as though that could be moving closer toward completion.

Spurs supporters have made it perfectly clear that they want Daniel Levy and ENIC out of the club.

Therefore, those same supporters would have been incredibly frustrated to discover that Levy was derailing potential takeover attempts [Bloomberg].

The 62-year-old has been urged to quit his position at Tottenham by a former employee as his high valuation of Spurs and desire to remain in control puts off potential investors.

However, it looks as though a takeover might be moving in the right direction behind the scenes after all.

Levy has “phenomenal” amount of control at Tottenham

Levy’s popularity will no doubt have sunk to a new low after it emerged that the Spurs chairman was the reason a takeover deal was yet to go ahead in North London.

However, Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – believes the constant updates suggest something must be going on behind the scenes.

“Levy has a phenomenal amount of control considering he doesn’t own the club,” Wenham said.

“He isn’t the owner, but he seems to be the complete face of everything to do with Tottenham. Who knows why all of these updates are coming out, maybe it is a bargaining trick, or an attempt to drive the price up.

“However, these takeover updates seem to be more consistent and more talked about. Therefore, I certainly think things are going on in the background, for sure.”

Levy needs to sanction a takeover at Tottenham

Unless ENIC decide to start splashing the cash and pushing Tottenham forward on the pitch, the fans are only going to become more and more frustrated.

Therefore, it feels as though now is the right time for new owners to come in and take the club forward, and it seems as though Levy has a major say in this decision.

As a result, the Spurs supremo should be looking to get a deal agreed, as that is what is best for Spurs.
