Tottenham takeover: ‘Phenomenal’ Daniel Levy to work with new sporting director
Daniel Levy could soon have a brand-new high-profile colleague should a proposed multi-billion Tottenham takeover go through.
Levy has come under fire in recent weeks with supporters growing tired of the 62-year-old.
Countless fans took to the streets ahead of the 1-0 Premier League win over Manchester United at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday (16 February) to protest against Levy and ENIC.
More protests have been mooted ahead of the Premier League clash with Manchester City in North London on Wednesday (26 February), with Spurs’ poor form this season causing frustration.
However, it looks as though Spurs fans might be stuck with Levy for the foreseeable future.

Levy ‘to work alongside sporting director at Tottenham’
As reported by The Guardian (12 February), a group of Qatari investors who are seeking to buy Tottenham could offer Levy a long-term contract to continue running the club as executive chairman.
However, Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – doesn’t think Levy would have anything to do with the footballing side of things in North London.
“If it was made clear that Levy would be focussing on the business side of things, I don’t think people would have an issue,” Wenham said.
“On the business side of things, nobody who understands football can dispute that Levy has done a very good job. He is phenomenal in that department. However, I’m sure that whoever completes a takeover would have plenty of money and bring in a sporting director to work alongside Levy.
“The equivalent of a Dan Ashworth, Paul Barber or even a Jürgen Klopp, who works with Leipzig now. They would bring in somebody to make the footballing decisions, someone of a high level. Nobody is investing billions into Spurs to then not have somebody in place to make the footballing decisions.
“However, I’m sure they want to keep Levy for his business acumen. Therefore, while people might not be happy about it, from a business point of view it would make sense.”
Qatari investors to complete takeover of Tottenham
Many supporters have called for ENIC to relinquish control of Tottenham. Therefore, the news of a potential takeover will be music to the ears of many in North London.

However, should Levy stay on, that would likely come as a huge disappointment, with fans also calling for the chairman to leave the club as well as ENIC.
