Tottenham takeover: Expert shares when Daniel Levy could finalise deal

Tottenham could be very close to finalising a takeover after recent whispers from the Middle East, with Dan Plumley reacting to the news.

Richard Keys recently revealed that he was in conversation with someone who told him a deal was done to purchase Tottenham from Daniel Levy and ENIC.

Qatari officials are said to have been in talks over a deal, with Levy valuing the North London club at £3.75billion.

Plumley admits that it could still take months until anything is confirmed and announced, with plenty of stages through a takeover.

The football finance expert revealed that takeovers depend on due diligence and checks behind the scenes, although admits Spurs fans will be happy.

“We’ve all seen the strong rumours and they’ve been there for a while,” Plumley exclusively told Tottenham News.

“We know that there are potentially people interested in Spurs and a lot of that is linked to Qatar and the Middle East, and we understand that from what’s happening in the market.

Even when a deal is done, if somebody is saying that, it’s still going to take time to get that through and as we have seen from other takeovers, even dependent on the size of club, it can still take months.

It just depends on the procedural stuff, the due diligence and checks that have to be done.

If there is a deal to be done, a lot of Spurs fans would be very happy with that, given some of the protests recently and feel like that takeover is needed, but if there is a deal that is close, it still may take a little bit of time.”

Tottenham takeover announcement close

After recent Tottenham fan protests, there is a clear sense that fans would be delighted if a deal was done.

Given everything that needs to happen for it to be made official though, it appears that any announcement is months away in North London.
