Tottenham statement may be needed after legal news – Finance Expert
We’re delighted to welcome football finance expert Dr Daniel Plumley as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Tottenham...
Dan Plumley has insisted that Tottenham may need to release a statement after StubHub found themselves in hot water regarding their ticket sales.
Bloomberg reported on 22 November that Daniel Kaiser sued the American company after selling bogus tickets to the Liverpool game earlier in the season, as he was refused entry after travelling across the pond.
The finance expert admitted that the damage is more from a PR perspective, but it should not hurt the club too much either financially or reputationally.

“It’s more from a PR perspective,” he exclusively told Tottenham News.
“It won’t hurt Spurs in the pocket, it’s just one of those where you are looking at the link and people might spin a bit of PR off it.
“It shouldn’t be massively damaging for the club in the bigger picture, they will be aware, they may need a statement lined up or something like that.

“You’re probably never going to get to that point, so you’re dealing with any PR that comes from it, but on the whole, it’s not going to hurt Spurs too much reputationally or financially.”
Tottenham did end their partnership with StubHub back in 2017, but tickets can still be resold online by fans despite incentivised touting being called out by the Supporters’ Trust.
