Tottenham senior hire ‘already making changes’ ahead of official start date

Tottenham are gearing up for a summer of change, with one senior hire already making changes despite not yet officially starting in his new position.

The Lilywhites ended their 17-year trophy drought with a 1-0 victory against Manchester United in the UEFA Europa League final in Bilbao (21 May).

While Ange Postecoglou gave Tottenham a huge springboard by winning the Europa League, which means qualification for the UEFA Champions League next season, the Australian’s future at Tottenham remains uncertain.

Now, with plenty of changes expected in the coming months, a new senior hire has already started pulling the strings in North London.

Vinai Venkatesham has already made changes at Tottenham

Venkatesham is set to take over as Tottenham’s Chief Executive Officer this summer.

However, it is understood that Venkatesham has already started work at Tottenham after noticeable improvements in the communications department.

Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – believes the incoming Spurs CEO is already making changes ahead of his official start date.

“It seems like Venkatesham nails the small details,” Wenham said.

“He’s seen how the club operates, and it seems that he’s very quickly making changes which are making a massive difference.

“Everyone was wearing white for the Europa League semi-final, and also in Bilbao. The reduced ticket prices for the semi-final, the offer of a free drink, and putting scarves out. It is small stuff, but it makes such a difference to the feeling of the match-going support.

“That is something Venkatesham is getting spot on, and I look forward to the official announcement of his start date.”

Postecoglou may be the next change for Tottenham

Question marks still surround the future of Postecoglou at Spurs despite winning the Europa League.

The Australian oversaw Tottenham’s worst-ever Premier League campaign, setting the record for the most Premier League defeats for a side that wasn’t relegated.

As a result, Levy is still considering replacements for the current coach with several managers already on his short list. However, the Spurs chairman will need to decide quickly if he wants Tottenham to be competitive next season.
