Tottenham: Roony Bardghji to quit Copenhagen amid Spurs transfer pursuit – Sources
Spurs target Roony Bardghji is set to quit FC Copenhagen this summer, Tottenham News has learned.
Bardghji has burst onto the scene over the past couple of seasons with his impressive performances in Denmark and Europe.
At the age of 18, he has already made 75 appearances for FC Copenhagen’s first team, scoring 15 goals and providing one assist in that time.
He has played 18 times in the Superliga this season, scoring seven goals, while he also made four appearances in the UEFA Champions League, netting against Manchester United in a memorable 4-3 win (8 November).
Speaking ahead of Copenhagen’s Round of 16 first-leg tie against Manchester City, former United star Rio Ferdinand was full of praise for the winger, telling TNT Sports (13 February), “Whenever I’ve seen him, he comes on, he looks like he should be there. He wants to be there; he’s got the ability. I think he’s going to be a name we’re going to hear more about.
As previously revealed by Tottenham News (13 January), Spurs are interested in Bardghji’s signature.
Now, a recruitment source with links to Denmark has exclusively told Tottenham News that the player is ready to quit Copenhagen.
Could Daniel Levy bring Roony Bardghji to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium?
Tottenham News has been told that Bardghji feels “the time will be right” to move on from Copenhagen this summer as he looks to progress away from his boyhood club.
Bardghji emerged through Copenhagen’s youth ranks, playing 21 times for the Under-19s, scoring seven goals and providing four assists.
He has already played for Sweden at international level, having made seven appearances for the nation’s Under-21 side, scoring two goals after hitting five in six for the Under-17s.

Bardghji could become the latest forward to be signed by Postecoglou at Spurs, with the Australian having already brought Brennan Johnson, Alejo Veliz and Timo Werner to North London.
In other Tottenham news, John Wenham of Lilywhite Rose has shared his “huge disappointment” after what happened to Spurs’ Under-18s recently.
