Tottenham risk emerges as Spurs seek deal to sign RB Leipzig star Dani Olmo in summer transfer
Tottenham need to be aware of the risks ahead of potentially signing RB Leipzig attacker Dani Olmo this summer, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert claims that the shoulder injury the Spain left winger suffered in October was a serious one and has a chance of recurring.
German news outlet Bild reported on 9 May that Spurs are among a number of clubs vying to sign the 26-year-old this summer, whose release clause is £55.8million.
Discussing the state of play with Olmo exclusively with Tottenham News, Dr Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said:
“Olmo suffered a serious injury in October which kept him out for the rest of the year,” said Dr Brar.
“It was an acromioclavicular (AC) joint separation, colloquially a separated shoulder.
“The problem with these is there is an increased risk for recurrence and if it does continue to occur, there’s the possibility for surgery needed.
“So Spurs, or any club signing him this summer, will need to be careful as there is a possibility he could be ruled out for months if things get aggravated.“
Tottenham could do with a game changer like Dani Olmo this summer
Olmo could be a great signing for Tottenham this summer due to his versatility, technical skills and proven track record in the Bundesliga.
The 26-year-old offers an attractive option for Spurs to bolster their attacking options.
His ability to play in various positions across the forward line and centrally adds depth to the squad, potentially complementing James Maddison.

Moreover, Olmo’s experience in top-flight European football and his goal contributions make him a valuable asset for a team aiming for Champions League qualification.
