Tottenham relations with player agency under ‘severe scrutiny’ after transfer developments

Daniel Levy could find issues in the market once again as Tottenham attempts to recover from the latest transfer blunder.

Richarlison was excellent once again, but it was Joao Palhinha who stole the show against Manchester City. After a superb showing, the Dane will be keen to extend his success to the summer market.

However, Tottenham could struggle to get certain potential signings over the line in the future.

Tottenham’s relationship with Creative Artists Agency to face ‘severe scrutiny’

Levy has been vying for a comeback after missing out on Eberechi Eze to Arsenal this month

This comes after Spurs were snubbed by Morgan Gibbs-White, who extended his contract at Nottingham Forest earlier in the window.

The Lilywhites have always maintained good relations with the Creative Artists Agency, which has represented the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Jose Mourinho.

Eze is another player who is represented by the agency. However, Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – believes his failed transfer may have fractured relations between Spurs and the CAA Base.

“Tottenham’s relationship with Creative Artists Agency Base is now under severe scrutiny, if you ask me,” Wenham said.

“When you consider that, they’re very friendly with them historically, we’ve seen them as a preferred working agency. To now see Eze as a base client, not join Tottenham, I think there’ll be issues there.”

Who is Tottenham’s next signing?

Tottenham will likely sign an attacking midfielder before the summer window closes, despite missing out on Eze.

Nico Paz, who is currently at Como and Lucas Paqueta are two names that have been cited in recent days. It was even suggested that Mohammed Kudus’ signing could facilitate Paqueta’s transfer

While Paz seems like the likelier arrival, Paqueta may be the better option.

The Como midfielder excels in ball carrying and marginally trumps West Ham’s star in key and forward passes. However, the Brazilian is levels above in every other metric.

With Paqueta believed to be up for a new challenge this summer, Spurs may be better off tabling an offer.
