Tottenham players told brutal reality after ‘unacceptable’ developments within squad
Tottenham players will need to improve their performances to see the home atmosphere improve.

This marked another home game that the Lilywhites have failed to win after Tottenham’s 1-0 defeat to Chelsea days earlier.
Despite Thomas Frank’s 4-0 win over Copenhagen in the UEFA Champions League days before, Spurs’ home form in the Premier League has started to become worrisome.
Tottenham players told to take responsibility for home performance
Vicario criticised Tottenham fans after their defeat to Chelsea, pointing out that the atmosphere quietened after conceding.
Supporters were not happy with his assessment, and speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, Tottenham expert and Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham believes that the players should take more responsibility for their home performances.
“Some fan bases, Sunderland, Copenhagen, Leeds, all jump up and down if a team are losing 4-0 and has another shot and goal. Tottenham’s fanbase just isn’t like that,” Wenham said.
“They need a buy-in from the players on the pitch. You need to be delivering something.
“The fans would always get behind the team when the team are putting in 100 per cent effort. The fans will not jump up and down, you know, when they’re not playing well. And that’s fair enough. That’s just how the Tottenham fans are.
“So we need more from the players. The Chelsea game was absolutely unacceptable. The only people who can change that are the players on the pitch and the manager. The fans have nothing to do with the performance put in on the pitch.
“If they’re not seeing anything on the pitch to get excited about, they’re not going to put on fake noise. They’re just not going to do it. So I think the players need to take more responsibility rather than the fans.”
What has Tottenham’s recent home form been like?
Only three of Tottenham’s last 20 home games in the Premier League have resulted in victory.

- Two of their home games have resulted in draws
It has been suggested that Tottenham could follow PSG’s approach in creating a section for young fans in the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium at a cheaper price to improve the atmosphere and performances on the pitch.
However, it remains to be seen whether that will happen or become a success if carried out. Either way, fans will expect to see their team’s home form improve once the November international break ends.
