Tottenham player not expected to play for Thomas Frank again as Lucas Bergvall point made
Tottenham will need to re-evaluate their squad if Thomas Frank is to compete in all competitions this season.
Aston Villa defeated Tottenham on Sunday in what was another disappointing home performance from the Lilywhites.
Destiny Udogie was sidelined for Spurs once again, with Kevin Danso replacing Cristian Romero during the warm-up.
With injuries starting to mount and pressure to see convincing results beginning to build, Frank may need to make some key squad decisions over the coming months.

Alejo Veliz not expected to feature for Tottenham again
Tottenham loaned Alejo Veliz back to Rosario Central over the summer, two years after he arrived from his boyhood club.
Spurs’ management of Veliz has been criticised, and after a series of forgettable loan spells as well as the increasing competition in North London, a departure remains on the cards.
In fact, speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, Tottenham expert and Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham believes Veliz will not feature for Spurs again considering not all transfers work out in football.
“I don’t see him ever featuring for Tottenham,” Wenham said.
“I’d say it’s a lot of money, but we spent a similar fee on Pape Matar Sarr. There was a similar fee on Lucas Bergvall, and look what he’s worth now. We paid even less for Luka Vuskovic.

“So you take some gambles and they’re not all going to be a success. It doesn’t mean your recruitment is horrendous because you spent £13million on Veliz.”
How has Alejo Veliz performed for Rosario Central this season?
Tottenham loaned Veliz out to Rosario Central in the hope that he’d rediscover the form he had prior to arriving in North London.
It is safe to say that the forward is doing just that.
- He has netted five goals in 12 games
- That is four more than at Espanyol last season in 29 appearances
He has also started each of his 12 games for his boyhood club, whereas he was named in Espanyol’s La Liga squad 38 times last season but started 10 matches.
While a future at Tottenham is not guaranteed, with the way he’s playing, the Lilywhites may be able to collect a profit. This will no doubt be an outcome all parties will find favourable when the time comes.
