Tottenham plan for Jamie Donley revealed after loan exit suggestions in January transfer window
Tottenham News is delighted to welcome John Wenham of Lilywhite Rose as our exclusive columnist. Each week, he’ll be giving his expert insight on the biggest talking points at Spurs…
John Wenham has revealed that the plan is for both Alfie Dorrington and Jamie Donley to be kept around the Tottenham first-team rather than leave on loan in January.
Spurs’ Under-21 duo are flying high this season, and their performances are a big reason why Wayne Burnett’s side sit top of Premier League 2 with a 100 per cent record in the competition.
Donley has four goals and nine assists in his nine appearances in the league, while Dorrington has been impressing with his performances at centre-back.

Both players have made their debuts for England’s Under-19s this season, with Donley netting five goals in his first five games at that level.
Some of Donley and Dorrington’s Under-21 teammates have secured loan switches this month, with Josh Keeley, Ashley Phillips and Matthew Craig all leaving the club temporarily in recent weeks.
However, Wenham has revealed that the North London side have different plans for the pair.
Speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, Wenham said: “There were suggestions that Dorrington could perhaps leave on loan this month, I understand those suggestions to not be true.
“At the moment, the plan is to keep him around the first team.
“It doesn’t look like Donley will be leaving on loan either this month, he is also set to stay where he is.

“He’s featuring regularly, getting five minutes here and there for the first team, and I think Alejo Veliz’s injury means he needs to be kept around.”
In other Tottenham news, Fabio Paratici has recommended Spurs to sign a Brazilian midfielder playing in the Serie A.
