Paul Robinson believes Tottenham need new behind-the-scenes investment to improve Ange Postecoglou's squad.

Former Newcastle United owner Amanda Staveley remains interested in doing business with the Lilywhites after holding talks with Daniel Levy [Ian Ladyman, 21 December].

While she has not confirmed any talks in North London, Staveley has suggested an openness to taking on another English top-flight club after leaving St James' Park in July 2024 [The Athletic].

Speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, Robinson said: "Regardless of who comes in, money is needed there for investment.

"Anyone who can come into the club and invest in the side, which is needed if they are to progress and stick by this manager's principles, they've got to supply him with the ammunition to do it."

Tottenham to seal extra funds as Ange Postecoglou suffers?

Levy has always been criticised for his lack of spending on the pitch despite all of his hard work with Hotspur Way and the surrounding area, but this has come at a cost.

With Micky van de Ven, Cristian Romero, Ben Davies and Destiny Udogie all sidelined, Spurs have been incredibly light in defence, which in turn, has seen far too many goals conceded in all competitions.

If a figure, such as Staveley, were to come into the club, one of the first actions would need to be handing Postecoglou the keys to whichever players he needs to thrive.

Otherwise, he risks being sacked as the supporters grow frustrated in North London.
