Will Lankshear is still hoping to break into the Tottenham starting XI as Ange Postecoglou works to understand his best forward line.

Dominic Solanke is often joined by Son Heung-min and Dejan Kulusevski in attack, but with the former ruled out with a new injury, a spot has opened up at Hotspur Way.

Richarlison and Mikey Moore have both been given chances to impress in recent matches, with the latter grabbing an assist against Hoffenheim, but Lankshear has only been afforded 11 minutes since mid-December.

The 19-year-old is possibly one of the most talented young strikers in the Premier League, but until Ange Postecoglou throws him into the starting XI, he's unable to prove that to everyone else.

He notched 26 goals in 34 Under-21s appearances, rightly earning his call-up to the first team, but the manager has not entertained the idea of him gaining valuable minutes.

Lankshear has even less chance of more minutes under Postecoglou after the latest transfer update emerged.

Will Lankshear to suffer after Tottenham transfer news?

According to Fabrizio Romano, Spurs have asked Ajax for the conditions to sign Dutch forward Bryan Brobbey on loan, joining West Ham in the race for his signature.

While the Hammers have been heavily linked with the transfer in recent days, the Lilywhites could now hijack the signing, which will be absolutely heartbreaking for Lankshear.

The academy graduate is already struggling for minutes at the Hotspur Stadium and the signing of yet another attacking is only bad news for him this month.

Unless he can secure a loan move away from North London before 3 February, it could be a very difficult next six months on the bench for Lankshear.
