Tottenham must complete ‘no-brainer’signing of Andrea Cambiaso as Fabio Paratici involvement is mooted – Expert
Tottenham News is delighted to welcome John Wenham of Lilywhite Rose as our exclusive columnist. Each week, he’ll be giving his expert insight on the biggest talking points at Spurs…
John Wenham insists that Fabio Paratici has something to do with a report linking Tottenham with a move for Juventus’ Andrea Cambiaso, and has described the move as a “no-brainer”.
As reported online by Italian news outlet CalcioMercato (14 December), Tottenham have been following the performances of Juventus left-back Cambiaso in recent months, with the report listing the north London side as “first and foremost” when it comes to interested parties in the 23-year-old.
Spurs have had some success in the Italian market in recent years with the signings of Cristian Romero and Destiny Udogie, both players brought to the club during Fabio Paratici’s time in north London.

And although Paratici is currently serving a worldwide ban from footballing activities, Wenham believes he has something to do with this latest report linking Tottenham to a Serie A talent.
Speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, Wenham said: “If you look at the link, we’re talking about a Serie A player, we know that Paratici knows that league inside out, and I am sure he has had something to do with this recommendation.
“His previous recruitment and buys have all been outstanding, so if he has raised the player’s name, it’s irrelevant if I or any other Spurs fan know much about the player or not.
“It’s very apparent Paratici has heard of him, so if he wants the player, it’s a no-brainer. His previous success and dealings in the market prove that he should be trusted, so if there is a player whom he has recommended then we should be getting it done.

“Postecoglou of course also deserves that trust after the instant impact he’s had on changing the entire style of play at this football club.
“We have to now show that we will back this manager.”
