Tottenham make ‘unfortunate’ announcement ahead of UEFA Super Cup – Exclusive

Tottenham are set to compete in the UEFA Super Cup final against Paris Saint-Germain.

The Lilywhites can win their second trophy of the year when they take on PSG in the Super Cup final on Wednesday, 13 August.

Spurs booked their place in the showpiece fixture after their triumph against Manchester United in the Europa League. Meanwhile, PSG steamrolled through Inter Milan to win their first Champions League.

While the fixture is anticipated to be one of the most exciting this year, fans will be unimpressed by recent news.

Tottenham have ‘unfortunate’ seat allocation for the Super Cup

Tottenham supporters are set to be disappointed to learn how many fans will be able to attend the Super Cup on the night.

As reported by Lilywhite Rose via X (1 July), Spurs’ allocation for the Super Cup will be 6,700 tickets.

The venue chosen to host the final is the Stadio Friuli, which has a capacity of around 25,000. While fans’ frustrations are palpable, Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – believes they should be aimed at the size of the stadium, not the club.

“That is just how it is with UEFA competitions,” Wenham said.

“The stadium has a capacity of around 25,000. Both clubs get a 6,700 allocation, so that’s 13,400 of the seats, which leaves around 10,000 seats for UEFA delegates and other guests.

“It’s unfortunate, but that’s how it is. The stadium itself is quite small, which makes the allocation feel small. For the Europa League final, there were around 30,000 seats for Spurs and United, which left around 20,000 for UEFA delegates and corporate sponsors.

“That’s just how it is for finals, always has been that way. Therefore, I think if people are frustrated, that frustration should be aimed at the size of the stadium.”

Tottenham will need to dig deep to triumph against PSG

PSG demonstrated once again why they are the best team in Europe after a 4-0 victory against Real Madrid in the FIFA Club World Cup semi-finals on Wednesday (9 July).

The French club will win their fifth trophy this year if they defeat Chelsea in the final, and will no doubt be eager to snatch their sixth.

As a result, Tottenham will need to put on the performance of a lifetime to triumph against their French counterparts in Italy. However, with quality players across the pitch, and Daniel Levy expected to make several more signings this summer, Spurs might have what it takes to clinch a win next month.
