Tottenham: Joe Rodon likely to make £15million switch to Leeds United
Tottenham defender Joe Rodon will leave the club permanently this summer after his positive loan spell with Leeds United, according to John Wenham.
Rodon has spent the 2023/24 campaign on loan in the Championship with the Whites where he has become an important player under Daniel Farke.
His performances at the back have helped Leeds move into the automatic promotion spots, as they sit second, two points ahead of Southampton who boast a game in hand.
As a result, Wenham believes the Wales international has turned his fortunes around and predicted where the centre-back’s future lies.
Speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, Wenham said: “I think Rodon will be sold this summer.
“Five different managers at Tottenham have had a look at Rodon and haven’t fancied him.
“When June comes around, he will have a year left on his contract. He has done extremely well at Leeds and hopefully, from Spurs’ perspective they get promoted because I think they would then look to sign him permanently.
“It would be a move that makes sense for all parties involved, and I believe he could fetch a fee of around £15million, which would be good business because his value was at an all-time low in the summer.
“This loan has really helped him demonstrate his quality and he has been a top addition for Leeds, so I expect that deal will be made permanent.”
Tottenham can afford to let Rodon leave
Rodon has shown his quality at Elland Road, but it is unlikely his performances have done much to convince Ange Postecoglou that he has a future at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
With Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven and Radu Dragusin all ahead of him in the pecking order, as young central defenders also come through in N17, there isn’t much room for the 26-year-old.

Daniel Levy will be delighted with the way Rodon’s time at Leeds has gone, with the club now in a strong position to at least recoup and perhaps even make a profit on the initial £11million fee they paid to sign him from Swansea (Sky Sports News, 17 October 2020)
In other Tottenham news, it is only a matter of time until the club complete a “really exciting” signing.
