Tottenham injury news as Expert shares Dane Scarlett verdict

Tottenham forward Dane Scarlett may have been ruled out for four months if he had to undergo surgery on his hamstring, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert claims that when he picked up his hamstring blow last month, the severity of his setback was uncertain as the scans had not taken place as well.

However, the 19-year-old is now back to full fitness and will stay at Spurs for the rest of the season after he was recalled from his loan spell at Ipswich Town.

Discussing the state of play with Scarlett exclusively with Tottenham News, Dr Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said:

“At the time of his hamstring injury, the best case scenario would have been hamstring tightness which would be day-to-day monitoring but that’s extremely unlikely as he was out for weeks.

The worst case looked like a Grade 4 hamstring rupture and surgery which would mean three to four months out but he returned sooner than that.

There’s always the possibility of surgery during the initial stages before the scans take place.

His current routine will depend on the true severity of the injury and also how he’s adapting to the increased training demands.

Fresh option for Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham

The 19-year-old made his first Spurs appearance of the season in the FA Cup third-round clash against Burnley, which the Lilywhites won 1-0 (5 January).

He has yet to feature in the Premier League under Ange Postecoglou but he can offer an option off the bench, particularly in an injury crisis.

He has been named on the bench against Brentford and Everton recently so it seems like he could be given a few minutes sooner rather than later.

Having been recalled after an underwhelming loan spell at Ipswich, the Englishman will be keen on making an impression.
