Tottenham injury news: Doctor shares update on Brentford ace Sergio Reguilon
Tottenham defender and Brentford loanee Sergio Reguilon may not be at a 100 per cent post his hamstring injury, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
Despite coming off the bench to play 17 minutes in the game against Brighton on 3 April, the injury expert claims that due to the lack of match sharpness, it will take some time before he returns to pre-injury levels.
The 27-year-old returned from his injury prior to the international break but then picked up a red card in the game against Burnley on 16 March, which saw him missing the following game.
Discussing the state of play with Reguilon exclusively with Tottenham News, Dr Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said: “The stoppage in game time post his hamstring injury will certainly delay his return to full fitness as you need match minutes to get there.
“The club will do their best to replicate that intensity off the pitch as he serves his suspension.
“With the international break having gone by and him playing a handful of minutes this week, it still seems he’s getting himself back to being at 100 per cent.
“It might take a couple of games where he comes off the bench to get back into that rhythm.“
Not the ideal start for the Tottenham defender
Reguilon was on loan at Manchester United where he had few impressive performances but it was a relatively underwhelming spell.
Things have not gotten off to the best possible start at Brentford as well and he’s still waiting to hit top form having started in the majority of games in February.
Hopefully, Thomas Frank manages to get the best out of the 27-year-old.

Whether or not he’s got a future at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium remains to be seen, but Ange Postecoglou will be keeping tabs on how he fares on loan.
