Tottenham injury news: Doctor issues update on Fraser Forster

Tottenham goalkeeper Fraser Forster may have suffered a setback with his injury rehab, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert claims that the Englishman is expected to be back for pre-season training as he has been ruled out this term.

There was hope that he would return in April, but it’s now understood that he is penned to be out of action until June. [Premier Injuries]

Discussing the state of play with Forster’s injury exclusively with Tottenham News, Dr Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said:

Reports said he could be back in April but now is said to be out until the end of the season.

I always say to be careful with long-term timelines because there are so many variables we simply don’t know.

This could be a case where some parts of rehab simply took longer so it doesn’t make sense to rush him back or there was some setback in his rehab.

In the latter case, you have to continue to be methodical and patient with your process to avoid further setbacks.

He should be back ahead of pre-season training.

Tottenham must handle Forster’s return carefully

Forster’s situation highlights the importance of taking a methodical and patient approach, especially considering his age of 36.

As he is not the first-choice goalkeeper, there is no urgent need to rush him back into action, which could potentially lead to further setbacks.

By allowing Forster ample time to recover and not forcing a premature return, Tottenham can ensure that he is fully fit and ready for pre-season training, minimising the risk of further complications.
