Tottenham injury news: Doctor issues Ivan Perisic update
Tottenham loanee Ivan Perisic has made his return from injury earlier than first expected, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert claims that his ACL setback meant that it would likely be April until he was back in contention for the first team.
However, as Football London reported on 18 March, he has been named on the matchday squad for Hajduk Split but has been an unused substitute.
Discussing the state of play with Perisic exclusively with Tottenham News, Dr Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said:
“He has recovered quite quickly from his ACL injury as the original timeline was April.
“That’s very likely a testament to his previous levels of fitness and commitment to the rehab process.
“The main precaution to avoid reinjury will be a gradual reintroduction to match minutes.
“However, there still are chances of one given and it’s important to be careful with such setbacks.“
Perisic will be leaving Tottenham at the end of his deal
Perisic will be signing for Hajduk Split on a permanent basis at the end of the season.
The 35-year-old had already fallen down the pecking order in North London and an exit seemed to be the best career move for him.
This season, he made just five appearances in the Premier League, all off the bench for Ange Postecoglou’s side.

His only start came in the Carabao Cup defeat against Fulham in which he registered an assist.
In other Tottenham news, a Spurs player has proven Ange Postecoglou right after an ‘Awful’ moment recently.
