Tottenham injury news: Doctor issues Destiny Udogie update v Aston Villa

Tottenham defender Destiny Udogie may not be at a 100 per cent post his knee injury, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert claims that despite him returning to action and playing the full 90 minutes against Crystal Palace, his game time could be monitored.

Spurs take on Aston Villa next in the Premier League on Sunday, 10 March.

Discussing the state of play with Udogie exclusively with Tottenham NewsDr Brara doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said: “As his injury was not too serious, it may just have been inflammation in the knee which can certainly persist for a couple of weeks.

His day-to-day will be gradually progressing his activity level and seeing how he responds.

He played the full 90 minutes recently and that’s not necessarily an indicator of him being back to his pre-injury levels of fitness.

He could see his minutes monitored in the coming weeks to avoid the risk of any setbacks.

Udogie’s return from injury is a huge boost for Tottenham

Udogie has been Ange Postecoglou’s first-choice left-back this season and has been in the team whenever he’s fit.

He has made 22 Premier League appearances and has contributed to two goals and three assists for Spurs.

The 21-year-old has also been tidy in possession for the North London club and is expected to be at the club for the long term given his age and ability.
