Tottenham hold ‘high hopes’ for Under-16 striker Leon Myrtaj amid contract offer update
John Wenham claims Tottenham hold “high hopes” for youth striker Leon Myrtaj.
The owner of the reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose has revealed that the 16-year-old is already making an impact on the international stage.
Myrtaj has been offered a two-year scholarship to join Spurs’ Under-18s next season (via Lilywhite Rose, 13 May).
And Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – believes the Albania Under-17 international could be a player to keep an eye on.
“Myrtaj is quite highly regarded at the club,” Wenham said.
“He is a confident player who already has international recognition from Albania, and he’s someone who the club have high hopes for.
“He is one of 15 players who Spurs can hand scholarship offers out to ahead of next season.”
Leon Myrtaj yet another exciting talent for Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham
It appears to be a very good time to be a young player at Tottenham.
Ange Postecoglou is spoiled for choice when it comes to the talent available to him in the club’s academy.
The likes of Mikey Moore and Jamie Donley are already making names for themselves at first-team level.
And it looks as if the crop of players below them could soon be following in their footsteps, with Myrtaj leading the charge.
In other Tottenham news, the club are set to make a string of lucrative announcements amid a “huge” stadium update.
