Tottenham gem Tynan Thompson hailed as ‘outstanding’ claim emerges
Tynan Thompson could become the latest young player for Tottenham fans to keep an eye on.
Spurs have a host of talented youngsters progressing through the club at the moment, with Harry Redknapp recently highlighting one player who everybody in North London has been raving about.
And Ange Postecoglou might now be keeping an eye on Thompson after his recent form.
The 16-year-old scored his second goal in as many FA Youth Cup games on Monday 20 January as Stuart Lewis’ side beat Grimsby Town’s Under-18s 5-3 to advance to the next round of the competition.
And Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – has singled out Thompson after his “outstanding” display.
“I was delighted to see the Under-18s advance to the next round of the FA Youth Cup,” Wenham said.
“As I said to people beforehand, you mustn’t ever underestimate a team like Grimsby, and I thought the Tottenham players were bang up for it, and you could see that with the wild celebrations every time we scored.
“I thought Thompson, who has trained with the first team already, was outstanding. He was our best player on the night, and he marked the performance with a fantastic long-range goal.”

For all of Spurs’ current troubles – of which there are a lot – the club do have a lot to be excited about when it comes to their younger players.
The likes of Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall are already regular features of the first team at the age of 18, while Mikey Moore and Will Lankshear have also burst onto the scene.
Therefore, if Spurs can steady the ship and get things right, there is a lot to be excited about as their young players continue to progress.
And Thompson could become the latest player to burst onto the scene after his recent form.
