Tottenham frustration emerges after what has happened to Alfie Dorrington

Tottenham have seen mixed success with the players they have loaned out this season.

Jamie Donley is currently excelling at Leyton Orient, with Josh Keeley also making a big impression between the sticks for the O’s.

Meanwhile, Manor Solomon has been tipped to join Leeds United permanently as a result of his impressive form at Elland Road, while Ashley Phillips and George Abbott have made an impact at Stoke City and Notts County respectively.

However, not every player who has left Spurs temporarily this season has settled into their new surroundings. Dane Scarlett was recently recalled to the club after struggling for minutes with Oxford United, while Alejo Véliz also looked set to return to North London from Espanyol.

Therefore, Spurs will be concerned about recent developments involving Alfie Dorrington.

Tottenham loanee Alfie Dorrington left out by Aberdeen

Dorrington has joined Aberdeen on loan for the remainder of the season.

However, he has started just one of the four games he has featured in for the Scottish outfit thus far, and Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – is both surprised and frustrated by these developments.

“It is beyond frustrating how little Dorrington has played,”

“He needs the minutes; he has gone to Aberdeen to play regular football. I want him to be playing every single game that he is eligible to play in while he is at the club. For me, he would be Aberdeen’s best defender.

“Therefore, I find it surprising that he isn’t starting every game for them. However, hopefully, that changes.”

Tottenham gem Alfie Dorrington must feature more regularly for Aberdeen

Dorrington is a talented young defender who appears to have a bright future ahead of him.

This move to Aberdeen is his first temporary switch away from Tottenham. Therefore, if it doesn’t go according to plan, it isn’t necessarily the end of the world, and there will likely be chances for the 19-year-old to head out on another loan this season.

However, Spurs will want Dorrington to develop as quickly and efficiently as possible.

Therefore, from Spurs’ perspective, they will be hoping to see the centre-back feature more regularly for Aberdeen in the coming months.
