Tottenham fear factor emerges after what expert noticed in Spain
Tottenham Hotspur are back into the do-or-die mindset which helped them through the last hurdle of the Europa League, as the competition returns this week.
Spurs admirably overcame Eintracht Frankfurt amid serious doubts over their mentality in the quarter-finals, and have set up a tie with Norwegians Bodo/Glimt.
The first leg at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Thursday (1 May) sees the Lilywhites back under immense pressure to take care of business, with Manchester United and Athletic Club facing off in the adjacent semi-final.

Tottenham told they should fear Bodo/Glimt amid Postecoglou pressure
Tottenham Hotspur are on a mission to get through their largely obsolete Premier League fixtures and navigate each stage of a competition it has become vital for them to win.
Postecoglou has merely the Europa League to stand on now, and a draw which on paper appears kinder to Spurs than the other remaining competitors does stay a daunting prospect with what rides on it.
Some Tottenham fans were complacent when the semi-final tie was confirmed, though others were quick to shoot their opinions down, with no affordability to become cocky.
TV commentator Ian Darke has gone one further with that view, believing Spurs must be “fearful” of Bodo, who have only just begun their domestic campaign which in Norway is played through the summer months.
Darke, speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, revealed he has previously watched Kjetil Knutsen’s squad train in warm-weather camps on the Costa del Sol in Spain, as their European commitments are played in their domestic off-season.
“Tottenham have to be very respectful and a little bit fearful of Bodo/Glimt. It’s not a club many people know an awful lot about, but I’ve seen them playing a couple of times in Marbella for mid-winter camps,” he said, having extensively covered European encounters for TNT Sports this season.
“It’s inside the Arctic Circle; they’ve knocked out Lazio; the performance they put in at Old Trafford when they lost 3-2 earlier this season there. Tottenham have a lot to consider.
“It looks like the easiest draw, but that trip to Norway is a tough one for a team as inconsistent as Spurs – and Ange Postecoglou knows what potentially rides on it in terms of his own future.”

Spurs have West Ham clash sandwiched between two legs
Tottenham have continued their wretched run in the Premier League, now positioned in 16th while having still not hit the 40-point mark.
They next take on West Ham United at the London Stadium, an all-capital clash between two sides who have entirely underwhelmed.
| Tottenham Hotspur – next three | Date |
| Bodo/Glimt (H) – Europa League SF 1L | 1 May |
| West Ham (A) – Premier League | 4 May |
| Bodo/Glimt (A) – Europa League SF 2L | 8 May |
The Hammers are one of only four clubs below Postecoglou’s men in the table, having between them lost 35 times in the league in 2024-25.
A win for Spurs – as they managed in the reverse fixture by a 4-1 scoreline back in October – would hit the 40 barrier, but the two coming Thursdays are by far the primary focus.
