Tottenham expert moots further signings after Leyton Orient transfer announcement

Tottenham have become shrouded in speculation following the departure of Daniel Levy.

There have been plenty of discussions regarding a potential takeover in the coming months, despite the insistence from the Lewis family that the club is not for sale.

Joe Lewis and Co. boosted the Tottenham coffers with a fresh injection of £100million recently, which could help fund another spending spree in the January transfer window.

Thomas Frank will be hoping to add more quality to his squad at first-team level, but it is in the youth ranks where the Lilywhites have been excelling with their business of late.

Jacob Collins-Fay deal may not be the end of Tottenham youth additions

Tottenham completed the signing of Jacob Collins-Fay from Leyton Orient last week, with the 15-year-old moving across London after catching the eye of the academy scouts.

The 15-year-old has been announced as a Spurs player, with Austen Ball also joining the youth ranks recently from Luton Town.

The Lilywhites are clearly making a conscious investment into their academy setup, and have used their reputation to be able to capture some of the most impressive young talents from the surrounding area.

Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham – speaking exclusively to Tottenham News – believes that Collins-Fay may not be the last of the young talents to come through the door in the coming weeks.

“Collins-Fay is someone they’ve known at Leyton Orient for a couple of years,” Wenham said.

“Tottenham have been watching the versatile midfield player. It’s normal for this age group. You’re making decisions about who’s going to be off for scholarships, and if you’re lacking in certain positions, you’ll cast your eye out elsewhere.

“It’s about who you can bring in that’s better than what you’ve got and that kind of thing. So we may even see a few more additions over the coming weeks and months ahead.”

Youth investment is hugely positive for Spurs

Luca Williams-Barnett looks set to be the latest Tottenham starlet to break through into the first team, as he continues to make a name for himself in Premier League 2.

The 17-year-old appears set to follow in the footsteps of Mikey Moore, who burst onto the scene at senior level during the previous campaign, and now finds himself on loan at Rangers.

The likes of Ball and Collins-Fay could easily be the next generation of talent who make it at the top level, and for that reason, the importance of investing in your youth teams simply cannot be underestimated.

Tottenham clearly have a plan in place to strengthen their various age group teams, and it would be no surprise to see it pay off in a few years.
