Injury Expert: Tottenham defender Emerson Royal out for up to six weeks due to partial removal of damaged tissue
We’re delighted to welcome injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the injury situation at Tottenham Hotspur...
Emerson Royal has undergone surgery for his left meniscus and will miss the next few weeks for Tottenham Hotspur, claims Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert explains that he will most likely be getting the damaged tissue partially removed so that he can return to action for Spurs.
After that, he will be told to do different things in training to regain control and also allow him mobility in the damaged parts.

Discussing his situation exclusively with Tottenham Hotspur News, Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said, “He underwent surgery for a meniscus injury and based on the reported timeline of three to six weeks this is most likely a partial removal of the damaged tissue aka partial meniscectomy.
“His post-surgery steps will be progressive mobility, strength and neuromuscular control in the knee, progression to more dynamic movements gradually.”

Emerson has featured for Spurs on 23 occasions in the Premier League this season and was Antonio Conte’s go to option at right-back.
He also deputised as a centre-back in a back three once during an injury crisis, but his other appearances have all been in his preferred role.
The 24-year-old has scored two goals and provided an assist for the Noth London side in this relatively underwhelming campaign.
In other Tottenham news, the North London outfit could turn to one former Chelsea player this summer to help solve their defensive issues
