Tottenham deadline day announcement torn to shreds – ‘It’s a joke’
Daniel Levy is facing even more criticism for his lack of spending at Tottenham now that the winter transfer window has slammed shut.
Ange Postecoglou has been without an eye-watering number of key players this season, including Micky van de Ven, Cristian Romero, Guglielmo Vicario and Brennan Johnson, to name just a few.
With that in mind, the Lilywhites were presented with a brilliant opportunity to bring new faces into the ranks, only to add Kevin Danso and Mathys Tel in the final few days of the winter window.
Supporters, quite rightly, were frustrated with their club’s activity in the transfer market, which was made worse after Johan Lange’s recent comments on why players were not signed sooner.
The anger and disappointment did not stop there, however, with an official announcement emerging just hours before the 11pm deadline rolled around, but it was not what fans were expecting.
Tottenham announce Beyonce dates at Hotspur Way
Instead of announcing the signing of a new player, it was confirmed [3 February] that artist Beyonce would be performing more dates at Hotspur Way, making the club a laughing stock.
And speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, Robinson said: “It just seems too disjointed. The joke on social media is that the biggest signing Spurs made during the window was Beyonce.
“That is all about the stadium and infrastructure. The priority should be on the pitch. On the day the window closed, they announced Beyonce at the stadium, which is just another stick to poke Tottenham fans with.”
Daniel Levy continues to face pressure in North London
It has been an extremely difficult campaign for the Lilywhites, with Postecoglou’s team sitting 14th in the Premier League table, but some fans have sympathy for the manager.

Levy’s lack of on-pitch investment is often a controversial topic at Hotspur Way, with supporters sick with a lack of new and exciting signings, and the Beyonce announcement just rubbed salt in the wounds.
Spurs can only hang onto the hope of lifting silverware via the Europa League or FA Cup, having been knocked out of the EFL Cup by Liverpool on Thursday 7 February.
If the under-pressure manager cannot bring a trophy to Hotspur Way before the 2024/25 campaign ends, it could spell the end of his tenure in North London.
