Tottenham: Daniel Levy takes money out of club after latest reveal

Dan Plumley has insisted that there was nothing wrong with Daniel Levy increasing his pay and taking a bonus at Tottenham.

It was revealed in the latest accounts at Spurs that the chairman had taken a £3million bonus, as well as increasing his pay to £3.581million.

The football finance expert admitted that people will instantly talk about anything when it comes to Levy and Spurs and this has been the same for many years.

“We will never get away with it at Spurs,” he exclusively told Tottenham News.

“It’s always been there and it’s been consistent, if you can give him something in that regard, it has always been there and will always be something that we talk about.

It’s individual motives about how people want to run the club and taking money out of the club as a director is completely within what you can do in a company.

Let’s strip it back and just look at the company basics, there is nothing untoward there in that regard, but of course, with it being football, Spurs and Daniel Levy, people will look to talk about it and we will talk about it the next year, and the next year after that because it’s been consistent for a number of years.”

Levy controversy is normal at Tottenham

It has been a drama-filled couple of weeks at Spurs, with the ticketing saga also not leaving fans impressed at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

That led to protests in the game against Luton, but not much more has been said about Levy and his bonus being revealed.

Based on this, it wouldn’t change much anyway.
